My story

I’m Andrew Taylor-Dawson and I’m Dad to an amazing little girl that my partner and I adopted after a three year journey into adoption.

I’ve really benefited from the insights, thoughts and shared experiences of adopters, adult adoptees and others involved with adoption and foster care.

I’ve started this blog to create a place for my thoughts and reflections on life as an adoptive family. I am by no means an expert and have only been doing this a little while, but I hope others may find my musings, ramblings and thoughts somehow useful as they navigate their own journey through the complicated world of adoption.

Everyone who comes into adopting has their own motivations and their own starting point. Adoption can bring joy but also lots of challenges. Post adoption support and accessing information and the thoughts of others can really help to break the isolation that often comes with the territory.
